Goal
The goal of the Child Support Division at the Platte County Attorney’s Office is to dedicate a team effort to improve the well-being of the Platte County children and families. We provide services in a fair, consistent, and timely manner. Lastly, we build respectable relationships with our community, courts, and other agencies that we work with.
Representation
The county attorney (or authorized attorney) represents the state of Nebraska and the best interest of the child. Our office does not represent the custodial parent or the non-custodial parent.
Note: We do not address custody, visitation, or any other matters outside of child support and health insurance. If you wish to be represented or to address additional matters, you will need to hire a private attorney or file pro se (on your own) using the self-help forms at the Nebraska Supreme Court website: supremecourt.nebraska.gov
Main Focuses
- Locating the non-custodial parents
- Establishing paternity
- Establishing, modifying, and enforcing health insurance/medical support
- Establishing, modifying, enforcing, and collecting support payments
